Grants and Demonstration Projects

ICOA often partners with other agencies and organizations to apply for additional government and private funding to develop new or extended services to Idaho.

This page, and these projects, will be updated continually with new developments, so please check back often.

KinCare Coalition

The Idaho KinCare Coalition is a group of organizations with statewide affiliations and individuals who are interested in the issues of informal kincare providers in Idaho.

Alzheimer's Disease "Stand By You" Program

The "Stand By You" program provides a comprehensive network of free services for individuals with Alzheimer's Disease or dementia and their families.

Healthy Vision

Part of the national Healthy Vision 2010 initiative, this project will develop an eye health resource tool for identifying older with vision-related needs and for raising awareness about eye health throughout the State.  The six Area Agencies on Aging will provide information on eye health and assistance with access to services.  The resource tool will be posted on the commission's website.

Flu Shots - Evidence Based Health Grant

Area Agencies on Aging 2, 4, and 6 are partnering with their health districts to provide free flu shots to seniors who did not receive shots.  Idaho's Healthy Aging Project will provide information about the need for and ways to access flu and pneumonia vaccinations to people 60 and older not currently receiving vaccinations.  The Project will be implemented in three of six rural planning and service areas (PSA's), representing 22 of Idaho's 44 counties.  A partnership of the local Area Agencies on Aging (AAA's) and District health Department (HD) will lead the project in each of the PSA's.  These three AAA/HD partnerships will conduct community assessments involving seniors and an array of community organizations to determine the best ways to disseminate information and deliver vaccinations in their locations.  Marketing and outreach methods will reflect the feedback from local communities and encourage community cooperation in their efforts.
