BIO:

Coleen has now spent almost as many years in the work force as she spent at home raising nine children. The children, 6 daughters (one deceased) and 4 sons now bring home 22 grandchildren to visit, ride horses, help her husband, John, on the farm, and continually bring joy to their lives.

After spending the first few years of her life in Star Valley, Wyoming, Coleen's family moved to Jefferson County, Idaho, where she has since lived. She was raised on a dairy farm, and her parents taught school. She graduated from Rigby High School and attended Ricks College.

Coleen worked as assistant to the region manager and as a training advisor at Utah Power in Rexburg for 17 years. She is currently a congressional staff assistant for U S Representative Mike Simpson in his Idaho Falls office.

A gubernatorial appointment to the Employment Security Advisory Council led to 12 years of service with the Department Labor and the Governor's Workforce Development Council. During those years, Coleen also served on the Region VI Idaho Works! Board of Directors.

Coleen became interested and active in politics as an Idaho Young Republican and has continued to share that activity with her husband. She has served in many positions from the local and to the state level.
